olympic-confessions: This goes for other athletes too. They need to let someone new have the spotlight. THIS IS SO WRONG IT HURTS. Don’t you get it? Its not like he can waltz right up to the podium and get his gold. Everyday, he has to EARN IT. Every day, not matter how much he doesn’t want to, he gets his butt off to the pool, and he spends those long hours, lap after lap, to train. If someone wants to get a medal/gold? Then they need to earn it too. Is it selfish for a president to serve twice? No, because he earned it. You must not be a swimmer, because you obviously don’t understand what dedication the sport takes. This man practiced every day for about 6 years (without fail!) to earn his medals and times, giving up most things would never dream of living without. It is utterly foolish of you to believe that he doesn’t deserve to go/its selfish to the Olympics again. To get to the Olympics in America, you have to first qualify for Trials, an incredible feat within itself. Then, Trials are set up similarly to the Olympics. He must swim a semifinal and a final for each event he wants to swim at the Olympics, and can only swim them if he makes the top two in finals. That means you could set a world record in semifinals and not even get to compete in the Olympics. ASDJASDFKHnfg this makes me so angry. You obviously have never been an athlete, to make such a stupid, foolish, and utterly ridiculous comment. Everyone has the same opportunities as he does. Its not like he gets extra hours in the day to train, or a specialized suit that only he can wear.  If other people want to beat him, they just need to try harder.
